Joseph Spyridakis Named Director of DFI cGMP Facility

The Duchossois Family Institute is happy to welcome Joseph Spyridakis as the director of our current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) Facility. After receiving his master’s degree in microbiology from Purdue University, Joseph began his career as a Microbiologist in the Food Science industry before moving into the medical device industry as Microbiology Lab manager. His most recent position was at Nelson Labs where his responsibilities included operations site expansion, implementation of new test methods, and cGMP compliance. We are thrilled to have Joseph lead our clinical manufacturing operations, where he will manage a team consisting of microbiome process associates and technicians, a lead scientist, a quality assurance professional, and bioengineers responsible for performing technical laboratory procedures to support biomanufacturing of live biotherapeutics (LBPs) for early phase FDA-approved clinical trials.
